According to Angelo Trofa - Anglo-Italian artist and part of the team behind this kit design, the graphic is also a tribute to legendary Ted Drake who became one of the most attributes of English Soccer Mythology and History by re-inventing the nickname of Chelsea itself from the old one called "Pensioners" - "The Blues"
